This is two big pieces of good news for Rinku, as he was recently appointed vice-captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He has now been appointed as the Regional Sports Officer in the Uttar Pradesh government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented him with the appointment letter.

In addition to Rinku Singh, the Uttar Pradesh government is also providing government jobs to six other athletes who have won medals for India at the international level. These include hockey player Rajkumar Pal, javelin thrower Ajit Singh, runner Simran, and Paralympic gold medalist Praveen Kumar.

The Regional Sports Officer is a Class II gazetted officer. Their duties include promoting sports activities in the state, maintaining grounds, and identifying and nurturing new talent.

A regional sports officer in Uttar Pradesh typically earns a salary of 70,000-90,000 rupees. Rinku Singh will receive a similar salary.
