New Delhi: Former Nepal prime minister KP Sharma Oli was arrested on Saturday for his alleged role in the Gen Z protests that rocked the country in September last year. The development comes a day after Balendra Shah was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of the neighbouring country.

Besides Oli, his former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak was also arrested.

“They were arrested this morning, and the process will move forward according to the law,” Kathmandu Valley police spokesman Om Adhikari quoted as saying by AFP.
