Corey Feldman on feeling left out in Rob Reiner’s Oscars tribute

Corey Feldman felt sidelined during Rob Reiner’s 2026 Oscars tribute as his longtime collaborators joined the stage to remember the late veteran filmmaker.

Almost two weeks after Reiner was recognised at the 98th Academy Awards, Feldman told Entertainment Weekly that the accolade felt “a little bit like a family reunion I wasn’t invited to.”

“We’re not going to use this time to go into my feeling about that,” the Stand By Me actor said in a joint interview with Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton for the film’s 40th anniversary.

He said he and the rest of the group were “very destroyed” by how events unfolded, adding that losing Rob, when they had all expected him to join the tour at some stage, was “a tragedy.”

On December 14, Rob Reiner was found dead at his Los Angeles home, aged 78, alongside his wife, Michele Reiner.

Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested the following day and later charged with two counts of first-degree murder, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

He faces a potential life sentence without parole or the death penalty if convicted, with his next court appearance scheduled for April 29.
