Bhopal/Indore. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed the bhoomi pujan of drinking water development works worth Rs 1356 crore under the fourth phase of Narmada Project in Indore. This scheme has been started under AMRUT 2.0, which will strengthen the water supply system of the city and provide better facilities to the citizens.

Inauguration of STP plant in Sirpur (STP Plant Indore)

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the STP (sewage treatment plant) built at a cost of Rs 62.72 crore at the Ramsar site in Sirpur. This will promote water management and cleanliness in the city.

Benefit distribution under Sankalp Se Samadhan campaign (Government Schemes MP)

The Chief Minister distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of various schemes under the 'Sankalp Se Samadhan' campaign. Under this campaign, more than 1.44 lakh people have benefited in Indore district. Exhibitions of various departments were also organized in the program, in which government schemes and achievements were shown.

Narmada Project will give impetus to development (Narmada Project MP)

The Chief Minister said that Mother Narmada is the lifeline of the state and development is gaining momentum with her blessings. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Narmada projects have got a new direction, due to which agriculture, industry and drinking water have improved.

Starting of Ganga Water Conservation Campaign (Water Conservation Campaign MP)

The Chief Minister gave information about 'Jal Ganga Augmentation Campaign', which will start from Gudi Padwa and continue till Ganga Dashami. Under this campaign, about 3 lakh water structures—wells, stepwells, ponds and canals—will be constructed and rejuvenated.

Will benefit from river linking projects (River Linking Projects India)

He said that the Ken-Betwa project will benefit 25 districts of Bundelkhand, while the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project will improve water and irrigation facilities in 13 districts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Besides, emphasis has also been laid on the revival of Shipra River.

Water plan for the future of Indore

The Chief Minister said that the plan has been made keeping in mind the water needs of the rapidly growing Indore city for the next 25 years. This will ensure a permanent solution to the drinking water problem.

Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that this project is an important step in the history of Indore. He said that preparations are being made for water management keeping in mind the population of 65 lakh by the year 2040.

Statement of Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat (Water Resources MP)

Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat said that this scheme will ensure about 900 MLD water supply. He said that the irrigation area in the state is being expanded rapidly and the target is to irrigate 100 lakh hectares by 2028-29.

Major works of the project (Narmada Project Details)

This project includes several major tasks:

  • 1650 MLD Intake and 400 MLD Treatment Plant
  • 39 km gravity pipeline and 2870 meter tunnel
  • 20 new overhead tanks and upgrades to old tanks
  • 1500+ km pipeline and millions of new connections

With these works, Indore's water supply system will be strengthened and people will get better facilities.
