New Delhi: The month of March had been unusual for the Delhi-NCR residents, as the people witnessed lightning, thunderstorms, rain, and prickly heat. On the last day of March, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert in the national capital on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the IMD, light to moderate rain with gusty winds is predicted in the region. The orange alert is issued till 5:20 pm on Tuesday in the national capital.

The last two days have been unusual for the Delhi-NCR residents as light rain occurred in several parts of Delhi on Monday evening. The rain brought relief to the public under warm and humid conditions.

Delhi witnessed its warmest March in four years as the maximum temperature was above 2.6 degrees Celsius for the month, according to the IMD.

Delhi-NCR experienced intermittent rain and mild heat simultaneously for the past few days.
