Computer Shiksha, a leading non-profit organization, is committed to closing the digital gap between different socio-economic groups through technology. Following the successful launch of its AI foundational video course in English last November, the organization has now rolled out its highly anticipated Foundational Course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Hindi.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to eliminate language obstacles for millions of students from underprivileged schools and communities throughout India. The course is tailored not only for school-aged children but also for young adults engaged in vocational training, educators seeking professional growth, and youth in rural areas aiming to acquire future-ready skills.
Enhancing AI Literacy
Building on the success of its English course, the Hindi version of Computer Shiksha’s AI foundational course includes 12 self-paced videos per module, specifically designed for independent learning. To facilitate access in areas with limited connectivity, the organization is offering the entire course material free of charge, distributing physical USB drives to NGOs, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and teacher training centers, ensuring that lack of infrastructure does not hinder education.
Moreover, all videos are available on YouTube as open-access resources, enabling learners across India to download and study the content at their convenience.
Growth Trajectory
Computer Shiksha is experiencing rapid growth, adding approximately 10 new schools to its program each day. In February 2026 alone, the initiative reached 80,677 underserved students across 377 new schools, further enhancing access to computer literacy and AI education throughout India.
This ongoing expansion underscores the organization’s dedication to bridging the digital divide and empowering students in both urban and rural settings.
Catalyzing Change Across Northeast India
In the Northeastern region of India, Computer Shiksha is making significant strides, operating in eight states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. The initiative covers 64 out of 131 districts, impacting 299 schools. In Assam, Computer Shiksha is active in 21 of the 35 districts, reaching 109 schools, with 63 located in the state's Aspirational Districts, delivering quality computer literacy and AI skills directly to the students who need them most.
"Empowering underserved demographics with advanced technological literacy is essential for India's future. Through open-access learning resources, we aim to equip students nationwide with the digital skills necessary for tomorrow's opportunities," stated Mr. Pradeep Marwaha, Director of Programs at Computer Shiksha.
Looking Ahead: Advanced AI Course — May 2026
Computer Shiksha is set to launch its Advanced AI Course in May 2026, building on the foundation laid by this initiative. The organization invites philanthropic leaders and corporate partners to join this transformative mission through CSR collaborations, becoming part of a movement that is reshaping the future of digital education in India.
