Where was Rishabh Pant wrong? Could he play the shot differently today? However, all these questions are irrelevant because Rishabh got dismissed in a way that can be termed "unlucky," if not. In the 5th match of the 2026 Indian Premier League, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant is facing his former team, the Delhi Capitals, and like in very few instances, he decided to open. By then he had faced 8 balls, scoring 7 runs. 

And then in the final ball of the third over, Rishabh suffered the run-out. Mukesh Kumar was bowling to Mitchel Marsh. Marsh looked for a drive, and then Rishabh ran down his crease to steal a run. Meanwhile, the ball was in the air, and Mukesh himself extended his hand, attempting to get the ball. However, his fingers touched it and simply bailed out the nonstriker's stumps. 

Rishabh, being out of the crease, was automatically given a runout.
