Dehradun: Uttarakhand, known as Devbhoomi, is home to many sacred temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman.

On Hanuman Janmotsav 2026, devotees can visit five famous shrines to seek blessings and experience the spiritual energy of Bajrangbali. These temples are not only places of worship but also centers of faith, culture, and tradition.

Kainchi Dham, Nainital

The most prominent shrine is Kainchi Dham, located on the Ranikhet-Bhowali Highway in Nainital district. Established by Neem Karoli Baba in the 1960s, this temple has become a global spiritual destination. Every year, a fair is held on June 15, attracting devotees from across the world. Baba Neem Karoli is considered a manifestation of Hanuman, and his followers include famous personalities like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Julia Roberts. Devotees recite the Hanuman Chalisa here, and long queues stretch for kilometers.

Hanuman Garhi, Nainital

Another important shrine is Hanuman Garhi, built in 1950 by Neem Karoli Baba. It is believed that every devotee who visits this temple has their wishes fulfilled. The temple also offers a breathtaking view of the Nainital valleys. Inside, statues of Lord Rama, Mother Sita, and Lord Krishna made of Ashtadhatu are worshipped alongside Hanuman Ji.

Hanuman Temple, Auli

In Auli, Chamoli district, lies a Hanuman temple linked to the legend of the Sanjivani herb. It is believed that when Lakshmana fainted during the battle with Meghnad, Hanuman came to Uttarakhand to fetch the Sanjivani herb. He rested for a while in Auli, and the temple commemorates this divine event.

Hanuman Chatti, Badrinath

Located about 12 km from Badrinath Temple, Hanuman Chatti is a sacred site where Hanuman met Bhima during the Mahabharata period. It is said that Hanuman defeated Bhima’s pride here. The temple is not only a place of worship but also a popular trekking spot, attracting pilgrims and adventure seekers alike.

Siddhbali Temple, Kotdwar

The Siddhbali Temple in Kotdwar is one of the most famous Hanuman shrines in Uttarakhand. Devotees from across the state and neighboring regions visit to make wishes. Once their prayers are fulfilled, they organize feasts at the temple. Bookings for these feasts are often made years in advance due to high demand.

On Hanuman Janmotsava 2026, visiting these five shrines—Kainchi Dham, Hanuman Garhi, Hanuman Temple in Auli, Hanuman Chatti, and Siddhbali Temple—offers devotees a chance to connect deeply with Bajrangbali. Each temple carries unique legends and traditions, making Uttarakhand a true land of devotion and spiritual heritage.
