To see how well its creation worked, Sakana AI submitted three papers to a major conference where reviewers knew some entries might be written by an AI (but not which ones).
One of these papers was accepted but later withdrawn for transparency reasons.
While impressive, there are concerns, like the risk of fake references or repeated figures, which is why Sakana says clear disclosure rules are needed as more AIs join the research world.
