Olivia Rodrigo has officially confirmed her third studio album after weeks of speculation fueled by cryptic clues and color-shifting murals across Los Angeles. The singer announced that the record, titled you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, will be released on June 12.

Rodrigo made the highly anticipated announcement via Instagram on Thursday, April 2, revealing both the album title and release date.

"my third album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love is out June 12th. I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it. available for preorder now! ?," she wrote.


The cover features Olivia Rodrigo in a pink outfit seated on a swing, marking a visual shift from her previously purple-themed aesthetic. She also cleared her entire Instagram feed ahead of the announcement, leaving only the album post.

‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ will mark Rodrigo's third studio album, following 2021’s Sour and 2023’s Guts. After the release of Sour, Rodrigo won awards for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “drivers license” at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

She described the project as a collection of “sad love songs,” suggesting that while the colors are changing, her razor-sharp lyrical honesty remains intact.

The new music announcement also comes amid speculation surrounding Rodrigo’s personal life. Reports suggest the singer recently ended her relationship with Louis Partridge, known for his role in the Enola Holmes franchise, after two years together.
