After toilet troubles, Artemis crew faces Outlook glitch in space

In a bizarre turn of events, the Artemis II mission has been hit by an issue with its Microsoft Outlook.

The glitch was reported by the mission's commander Reid Wiseman just seven hours into their historic journey to the Moon.

"I also see that I have two Microsoft Outlooks and neither one of those are working," he said over dispatch.

Before that, the crew flagged a problem while starting up part of the Orion capsule's Universal Waste Management System (toilet).

In response to Wiseman's report, mission control said they would connect through the PCD (Personal Computing Device) to fix the problem.

The PCDs are specialized tablets used by astronauts for tasks like emailing clients back on Earth and going through mission manuals during their 10-day journey.

However, it's not clear when this glitch was actually fixed.

The four-person crew of the Artemis II mission, which includes three Americans and one Canadian, has faced several technical issues since their liftoff. These include a blockage in the advanced lunar toilet.

The toilet fan is reported to be jammed, NASA spokesperson Gary Jordan said during live mission commentary.

Now the ground teams are coming up with instructions on how to get into the fan and clear that area to revive the toilet for the mission.
