A frightening incident at a train station in Seattle, US has gone viral after surveillance video showed a man being pushed towards a moving train. The incident took place on March 19 at the Northgate light rail station. According to reports, the victim was standing near the edge of the platform, looking at his phone while waiting for the train.
Suspect waited before attack
Security footage showed another man, later identified as Elisio Melendez, standing close to the victim. He appeared to wait as the train approached the platform.
Moments later, he suddenly pushed the man from behind towards the tracks. The victim managed to keep his balance after the first push. However, within seconds, he was pushed again.
The second shove came just before the suspect ran away from the scene.

Victim survives terrifying moment
Despite the danger, the victim survived the attack. He was left shaken but did not fall onto the tracks.
The timing of the incident has raised serious concerns. Authorities believe the suspect acted deliberately and chose the moment carefully as the train was arriving.
Arrest and charges
Investigators used surveillance footage to identify and track down the suspect. Elisio Melendez was later found at a mental health facility where he had been staying.
He was taken into custody on March 24. Officials have charged him with attempted second-degree murder.
During a court hearing on March 31, a judge ordered a mental health evaluation for the accused.
Authorities call act deliberate
Officials from the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said the attack showed clear intent. They stated that the suspect’s actions suggested he wanted to cause maximum harm, especially given the timing near an incoming train.

The video has triggered strong reactions online. Many people expressed shock and fear, calling the act dangerous and disturbing. Some users demanded strict punishment, while others raised concerns about public safety on transport systems.
Several comments also highlighted the need to stay alert in public places, especially on train platforms.
