New Delhi: Salman Khan’s stardom has always carried stories of generosity, but a recent account by a fan attracts even deeper admiration. Reena Raju, a three-time heart transplant survivor, opened up about a life-changing moment involving the actor. Speaking on a podcast with RJ Sowjanya on Voice of Bengaluru, she described how Salman stayed on call with her for nearly two hours on the eve of her first heart transplant surgery.

The actor was reportedly shooting in Australia at the time, yet made space for an emotional conversation that reassured not just her, but her family as well. What began as a message about her health turned into a memory she says she will always cherish. Reena also shared that Salman once surprised her with a white bicycle after she had casually mentioned wanting one, a detail that left her overwhelmed by his thoughtfulness.

How Salman Khan encouraged his fan before heart transplant surgery

Reena did not hold back her emotions while recalling that crucial night and expressing her admiration and love for him. She added, “First of all, let me say, I love him with all my three hearts and my soul. When I was not well and before my first heart transplant, I had his number. So many people must message him, but he replied, and I told him I’m going through a heart transplant. He was shooting in Australia at that time. He called on the night of my transplant and spoke to us for almost two hours. He was very kind to my family and encouraged me to go through it.”

She mentioned that he remembered her even after two years. In 2018, after her second transplant, she visited him at his residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Mumbai.

Reena shared, “He has kindness written all over him. We spent the whole night partying at his house, singing and dancing. Four months after my second transplant, I had diabetes and all kinds of medical issues, but I was having a good time. He took us to the Race 3 sets… He gifted me a Being Human white bicycle because he remembered that I had messaged him about it long ago.”

Salman Khan’s upcoming films

On the work front, Salman is awaiting the release of Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film, earlier slated for April 17, has been postponed, with a new release date yet to be announced. On March 30, Salman also revealed an action drama with director Vamshi Paidipally, marking his first collaboration with producer Dil Raju.
