Bharti Airtel has achieved an important milestone in the global telecom industry. The company has recently informed that it now has 65 crore mobile subscribers, making it the second largest mobile operator in the world. This figure is based on the latest data from GSMA Intelligence. Airtel is providing its services in both India and Africa region and is continuously expanding its network.
Airtel has more than 368 million mobile subscribers in India, while the company has more than 179 million users in 14 countries in Africa. This together gives Airtel a respectable position in the global telecom rankings.
Airtel Vice Chairman Gopal Vittal said that the company is continuously focusing on innovation and reliability to provide better experience to its customers. He says that building trust with every subscriber and providing excellent service is the main objective of the company.
Expanding beyond its regional markets, Airtel has entered into strategic collaborations with companies such as Eutelsat OneWeb and SpaceX. Its aim is to provide digital connectivity even in remote areas and further increase internet access.
This move will not only help Airtel’s growth but also provide better service to users, thereby reducing the digital divide.
