It is expected that Blood of My Blood will be released in mid-2026 (June/summer time frame) due to filming lasting around six months, as well as the timeframe to complete typical high-budget drama post-production activities (i.e., VFX, editing, scoring, marketing). Speculation from various sources and outlets seems to agree on a potential mid-2026 release date and may also range from late 2026 or early 2027; at this point in time, it appears that STARZ may intend to stagger the releases of each franchise entry.

The long gaps experienced historically between Outlander seasons may have contributed to the current situation, although the ratings for Blood of My Blood Season 1 and the quick renewal of that show may provide a reason to believe that production timelines will be shorter for this show than was previously experienced with other Outlander seasons.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2, Latest updates

Premiere date for Season 1 of The Thing was August 8, 2025, on STARZ (with new episodes releasing weekly every Friday). The series was successful enough to merit early renewal.

The series received renewal for Season 2 in June of 2025 (before Season 1 had actually aired), with filming commencing immediately following Season 1’s completion, and concluding mid-December 2025 (approximately December 18).

STARZ posted wrap photos on their Instagram account, indicating that the series was finishing up post-production work. To this point, there has been no trailer or official promotional materials released for Season 2.
