The Forsytes (a new take on John Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga by Poldark writer Debbie Horsfield) has been given a second season before the first season hit the air. The announcement of the green light for Season 2 was made in June 2025, prior to the showing of Season 1. Season 1 debuted on Channel 5 in the UK in October 2025, then began airing in the US on PBS Masterpiece on March 22, 2026 (all six episodes are available for streaming on PBS and PBS Masterpiece–also available for streaming through the PBS app and on Prime Video–and will air weekly on Saturdays). As of early April 2026, PBS is still airing Season 1 of the series, and Season 3 has also been approved.

The Forsytes Season 2: Release Date Speculation

At this point, there is no confirmed official release date for Season 2.

With a pattern of annual releases and the fact that Season 2 finished filming in the summer of 2025, almost all publications are speculating a late 2026 release (most likely in October or November) on Channel 5 in the UK, followed by a few months of subsequent PBS Masterpiece airing in the United States (following the same timeline as Season 1).

Production on the film began very quickly, as filming on Season 2 had already begun prior to the announcement of the renewal in June of 2025. Season 2 was filmed in locations throughout Bristol, UK.

The Forsytes Season 2: Plot Details

The Official Synopsis for Season 2 (provided to us by PBS/Masterpiece): In this new chapter of The Forsyte Saga, the proud family dynasty faces a new era of scandal, ambition, and shifting loyalties. As love, legacy, and reputation collide, so too do the cracks in the family’s once-polished façade.

The second season promises to be “more grandeur” than the first season and will feature six episodes continuing with the saga of the Forsytes from one generation to another and set in late Victorian/Early Edwardian England. Expect to see a continuation of high-stakes family conflict, forbidden love, financial intrigue, and social climbing, only with new scandals and even more fallout from the events of Series 1.

So far, no episode breakdowns or major spoilers from Season 2 have been announced (the production of Season 2 is complete, but promotion for Season 1 continues until next spring), but the story will continue directly from the unresolved story lines from Season 1.
