The news of Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 itself had fans on the edge of their seats, but now there is some sad update for fans, as a recent News 18 report suggests that Shah Rukh Khan has politely declined the offer. The report states that SRK wants to focus entirely on King and hence doesn’t want audiences to see him on the big screen before the action thriller.

As per Pinkvilla, a source shared, the makers were keen to have Shah Rukh Khan on board for a five-day cameo, and he was absolutely open to the idea. However, his current focus remains firmly on King, which holds immense importance for him, especially as it marks his daughter Suhana Khan’s big-screen launch. In a respectful conversation with the team, SRK expressed his willingness to do the cameo while requesting that the release of Jailer 2 could be aligned post King, as he wanted his appearance to remain exclusive to that film. He has a certain look in King, and he doesn’t want to have the same in any other film before.

While Shah Rukh Khan holds the highest regard for Rajinikanth and is eager to collaborate with him in the future, right now, the difference in the release of Jailer 2 and King isn’t much; hence, both parties have mutually decided to drop the idea of a cameo for now.

An August release was being considered by the makers, ahead of King in December. Given the differing timelines, a mutual decision was made by both parties to part ways on this cameo. A personal conversation was also held by Shah Rukh Khan with Rajinikanth, where admiration was conveyed, and assurance was given that collaboration, be it a cameo or full-fledged role, would be welcomed at a more suitable time in the future, the source further shared.

Earlier today, an X account, Rangasthalam, reported that SRK had allotted five days of call sheets without taking any remuneration, purely out of his love and respect for Rajinikanth for Jailer 2, but this new update suggests that the earlier report isn’t true.
