Megastar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited sequel *Jailer 2* is once again in the headlines. According to Pinkvilla, Shahrukh Khan will not be seen in the much talked about long cameo role which was being talked about earlier. According to reports, the Bollywood superstar was very keen to make a special appearance with Rajinikanth. However, he has decided to focus his entire attention on his upcoming big project King, in which his daughter Suhana Khan will also be seen in an important role. It is being said that SRK is very protective about his special look in King and does not want his look to be seen in any other film before the release of the film.

In talks with the filmmakers, SRK had expressed his desire to shoot a cameo, but requested that Jailer 2 be released after King. Since the sequel is expected to release between June-August 2026 and King is slated for December 24, 2026, both parties mutually decided to part ways from the project. According to insiders, the decision was entirely amicable; SRK himself contacted Rajinikanth and expressed his appreciation towards him and expressed his desire to work together in the future.

Rajinikanth will once again be seen in the role of his famous character “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian in *Jailer 2*, written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. This action-comedy film stars SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirna and others in important roles. The music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while the cinematography is by Vijay Karthik Kannan. The film is in its final stages and also features cameos from big stars like Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Vinayakan and Vijay Sethupathi.

Although fans are disappointed to not be able to see SRK and Rajinikanth together on screen, there are still hopes of them working together in the future considering the strong personal rapport between the two legends. *Jailer 2* remains one of the biggest South Indian films of the year 2026.
