Patna. Bihar government has taken a big and strict decision regarding its employees. This new order issued by the state’s Urban Development and Housing Department has been implemented with immediate effect from April 6. After this decision, the stir in government offices has intensified and it is being widely discussed among the employees.

In fact, according to the department, it was being observed for a long time that many employees repeatedly asked for permission to appear in competitive examinations. Their regular work gets affected due to the process of preparing and appearing for the examination.

This not only slows down the pace of government work, but also hinders timely completion of departmental work. The government believes that when a person joins government service, he should give priority to his responsibilities. In such a situation, allowing repeated examinations has been considered against public interest.

What is the new rule?

According to the new order, now any employee will be allowed to appear in the competitive examination only once in his entire service period. However, this permission will also be given only if that examination is for a job with a higher salary level than the current post.

Strict conditions also apply

The government has made this rule more stringent and made it clear that if an employee wants to take the exam more than once, he will have to resign from his government job. This means that now it will not be possible to prepare and attempt competitive exams again and again while working.

What could be the impact?

This decision will have a direct impact on those employees who continuously prepare for competitive examinations in search of better opportunities while in government service. Now they will have to take decisions regarding their career more thoughtfully. At the same time, the government hopes that with this step the employees will focus more on their work and the departmental work will speed up.
