Samay Raina calls out Sunil Pal, Mukesh Khanna in ‘Still Alive’


A year after facing backlash over his YouTube show, Indian comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina returned with a new comedy special Still Alivewhere he spoke about criticism and past events linked to India’s Got Latent.


The special was released online and included references to several public figures, including Sunil Pal and Mukesh Khanna. During his performance, Raina addressed reactions to his earlier content and explained his approach to comedy.


He said, “Playing a clean character is unnatural for me,” while talking about his style. He added that his humour had always been direct and unfiltered.


Raina also mentioned the controversy to Ranveer Allahbadia, stating that an FIR had been filed during that time. Referring to the situation, he said, “Ek clean banda kabhi kabhi h*rami nahi ban sakta internet pe.”


Speaking further, he added, “Non-vegetarian veg kha sakta hai, vegetarian non-veg khayega ulti hi karega,” while explaining how public image and expectations played a role in the reaction.


He also spoke about the impact the situation had on him. “It broke me like anything,” he said, referring to the decision to take the show down in India.


Talking about the content of India’s Got LatentRaina said, “Bohut gandi gandi baatein keh dete the,” adding that the show had been mostly unscripted and later adjusted through edits.


Recalling the backlash, he said, “Sab aa gaye the khane hum ko — politician, celebrities, Sunil Pal,” while mentioning that he had received advice during that time.


He also made a reference to Mukesh’s popular role and said, “Shaktiman aa gaya tha yaar. Shaktiman se kaise ladenge.”


Raina stated that despite the controversy, he had received support from different audiences.


He added that the first season of the show had come to a close, while also hinting at a possible return in the future.
