Self Help Group Ramsheela Kashyap Success Story: Kudhur, a remote village in Kondagaon district, which was once affected by Maoism, is today writing a new story of development and self-reliance. Better accessibility of government schemes has completely changed the picture of this area. An inspiring example of this change is Mrs. Ramsheela Kashyap, a resident of the village.
Ramsheela Kashyap started becoming self-reliant in the year 2018 by joining 'Jai Maa Danteshwari' self-help group under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN). At that time there was only one grocery shop in the village, which caused a lot of trouble to the villagers.
Due to non-availability of essential commodities in the village, people had to go to Mardapal, about 20 kilometers away. Understanding this problem, Ramsheela Kashyap decided to open a grocery shop in the village itself. He got financial help of Rs 50 thousand from a self-help group, with the help of which he started his business. Gradually he increased the stock in the shop and strengthened his work.
Today this small shop of Ramsheela has become a big facility for the entire village. Now villagers do not have to go far for essential goods. This is saving both time and money of the village people.
Ramsheela Kashyap is now earning around Rs 20 to 25 thousand every month from her shop. Earlier his family was dependent only on farming, but now they have a strong source of additional income. Due to this, the financial condition of his family has improved a lot.
Ramsheela Kashyap's success has become an inspiration for women across the region. She is also inspiring other women to become self-reliant by joining self-help groups. He has also expressed gratitude to the government and administration for his success, whose schemes have given him the opportunity to move forward.
