CM Krishak Jeevan Kalyan Yojana: Madhya Pradesh government is running many relief schemes for the farmers of the state. Farmers are called the ‘real heroes’ of the country. It has often been seen that some mishap or accident happens to the farmers while doing farming, due to which they die or due to serious injuries on their body, they become unable to do agricultural work. Keeping this condition of the farmers in mind, the state government is running ‘Mukhyamantri Krishak Jeevan Kalyan Yojana’ for them and their family members. Under this scheme, if a farmer dies in an accident during farming, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh as assistance.

Chief Minister Krishak Jeevan Kalyan Yojana is actually no less than a boon for the farmers. It was started in the year 2008 and in 2012 the government further increased its assistance amount. The clear goal of this scheme is that if a farmer dies or becomes disabled during farming work, his family can get immediate financial help. The special thing is that its benefit is not only available to the land owner, but also to the laborers working in the fields and other workers associated with agriculture.

Under what circumstances is the benefit available?

• Accidents occurring while using farming machines like tractors or threshers.


• Any accident that occurs while digging a well or installing a tube well in the field.


• In case of getting hit by the electric wires (high tension lines) passing over the field or getting electrocuted.


• In case of deterioration in health or poisonous effect while spraying pesticides on crops.


• Any accident that occurs on the way to the farmer’s house from his farm or while returning home from his farm.


• Injuries sustained while working in the grain market or accidents occurring while taking care of animals.

How much money does the government give?

• Under this scheme, on the death of a farmer, his family is given cash assistance of Rs 4 lakh.


• In case of body failure, assistance up to Rs 1 lakh is available.


• In case of partial disability, financial assistance of Rs 50 thousand is available.


• In case of death, Rs 4,000 is immediately given separately for the last farewell.

How to apply and what documents are required

To avail the benefits of the scheme, the farmer or his family has to submit all the necessary documents along with the application form to the District Collector Office. After the verification of papers is completed by the administration, the amount of assistance is sent directly to your bank account. For this you will need Aadhar card, passport size photo, photocopy of bank passbook and land papers (Khasra-Khatauni). Apart from this, if there has been a death then it is mandatory to give the death certificate and if there has been any damage to the body then it is mandatory to give the medical certificate from the hospital.
