Lucknow, Read: The teams reaching the finals were decided after the exciting semi-final matches played on Thursday in the Second Fazlur Rehman Memorial Sub Junior Hockey Tournament held at Chandra Bhanu Gupta Sports Ground (National College Ground). Now the title match of the tournament will be played today between Rahman XI and KD Singh Babu XI.

In the first semi-final, Rahman XI defeated Mohammad Shahid XI 4-1 and made it to the final. Right from the beginning of the match, Rahman’s XI played aggressively and maintained pressure on the opposing team. Yash gave the team the lead by scoring the first goal in the 11th minute, while captain Arpit strengthened the lead by scoring a goal in the 21st minute.

Rahman XI’s dominance continued in the second half also. Arpit scored his second goal in the 52nd minute and Priyanshu also scored in the 52nd minute to put the team in a strong position.

Captain Aamir opened the team’s account by converting the penalty corner received by Mohammad Shahid XI in the last quarter, but by then it was too late. In the second semi-final, there was a tough match between Jaman Lal Sharma XI and KD Singh Babu XI, which remained tied at 2-2 till the stipulated time.

After this, the match was decided by shootout, in which KD Singh Babu XI won 2-1 and entered the final. Now the final match to be held today is expected to be very exciting, where both the teams will try their best for the title.
