Amidst the morning rush, coming up with a school tiffin idea for children—one that is both nutritious and something they will happily finish completely—is nothing short of a challenge. A Paneer Wrap is an excellent option; it is rich in protein and looks so appealing that children will be eager to eat it the moment they see it.
Paneer is not only beneficial for the development of children's bones, but combining it with vegetables also ensures they receive essential vitamins. Let's discover the recipe for this quick-to-prepare and delicious Paneer Wrap.
**Ingredients**
**For the Wraps:** 2 fresh whole wheat rotis (flatbreads) or parathas
**For the Paneer Filling:** 150g paneer (cut into small cubes), 1 finely chopped onion, 1 finely chopped capsicum (bell pepper), and a little grated carrot
**Spices:** ½ teaspoon ginger-garlic paste, salt to taste, ½ teaspoon red chili powder, and ½ teaspoon garam masala
**Sauces:** 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup, and a little green chutney
**Others:** A little butter or oil, and finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
**Preparation Method**
First, heat a little oil or butter in a pan. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté briefly. Now, add the chopped onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
Next, add the capsicum and carrot, and sauté on high heat for 2 minutes. Now, add the paneer cubes and all the dry spices; toss well for 2–3 minutes. Finally, add the fresh coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
If you have leftover rotis from the previous night, you can warm them up on a griddle (tava) with a little ghee; however, using freshly made rotis is even better. For children, whole wheat rotis are a far healthier option than those made with refined flour (maida).
Now, place a roti on a plate. Spread mayonnaise down the center on one side, and tomato ketchup on the other side. Place the prepared paneer filling in the center of the roti, arranging it in a long line. If your child enjoys spicy food, you may also add a little green chutney.
Fold in both edges of the roti and roll it up firmly. Now, add a small amount of butter to a griddle (tava) and cook the prepared wrap on both sides until it turns light golden and crispy. The Paneer Wrap is now ready.
