New Delhi: ISRO has crossed another important milestone in the preparation for India's first manned space mission 'Gaganyaan'. ISRO successfully completed the second Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT) of the mission. This test was done in Sriharikota. This was the first major mission after the failure of the PSLV mission. Information about this success was given by Union Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh gave. ISRO has also released the video of this test which took place this morning.
Dr. Jitendra Singh tweeted, 'Congratulations to ISRO on successfully completing the second Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-02) for India's first manned space mission Gaganyaan next year. This second Integrated Air Drop Test was successfully conducted at Satish Dhawan Space Station, Sriharikota. This is an important milestone in the preparations for the Gaganyaan mission.

In this test, a model of the crew module was dropped from a helicopter. This module weighing 5.7 tonnes was dropped from a height of 3 kilometers. Chinook helicopter of the Air Force was used for this test. During the test the module landed safely in the sea. After this, a special team of the Navy took the module out of the sea. This was a very important test in the preparation for the Gaganyaan mission that the country is eagerly waiting for. During this, ISRO scientists tested the working of 10 parachutes of four categories.
