Lucknow: UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is that communication facilities should be accessible to every citizen of the country. He said that under ‘Make in India’, indigenous technology based 4G services were launched by the Prime Minister from Orissa on 27 September 2023, which is a historic step towards making the country self-reliant. Today, India is moving rapidly towards indigenous technology based communication revolution and people’s trust and inclination towards BSNL is continuously increasing.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Maurya was addressing the program titled “BSNL – Indigenous Technology: Opportunities and Challenges” as the chief guest in the meeting of the Central Executive Committee of BSNL Officers Association held in the auditorium of Bhootnath Telephone Exchange, Lucknow on Friday. Before this, he inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. He said that he has old memories with BSNL and while being an MP, he was also associated with a committee on telecommunications. While extending best wishes for the continued progress of BSNL, he said that after the formation of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2014, many revolutionary steps were taken to make the country self-reliant.


The Deputy Chief Minister said that BSNL has strong infrastructure and is not lagging behind in any respect. There is a need to work with dedication and better strategy to make it the leading telecommunication company of the country. He expressed confidence that in the coming times BSNL will attain the top position in the country.


He said that India is taking a giant leap in the field of nuclear energy. BSNL will play an important role in achieving the goal of making India a developed nation by the year 2047. Even today a large number of consumers in the country trust the services of BSNL.


Shri Maurya said that we should do every work in the national interest and new dimensions have to be established in the field of telecommunication. By adopting indigenous technology, India is making its strong identity at the global level. He said that providing affordable, quality and universally accessible services should be our priority. The Deputy Chief Minister said that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is the country’s leading government telecommunication company, which is moving towards self-reliance through indigenous technology. This will not only reduce foreign dependence, but will also increase employment opportunities in the country, promote local industries and startups and also strengthen data and cyber security. However, he also said that it is necessary to bring indigenous technology up to global standards, continuously invest in research and development and promote innovation. Solving these challenges is possible with effective strategies and continuous efforts.

On this occasion, a memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Chief Minister by the Sanchar Nigam Executive Association (East Telecom Circle). Senior officials of Bharat Sanchar Nigam and officials of Sanchar Nigam Executive Association were also present in the programme.
