The newest season of “You and I Are Polar Opposites” (Seihantai na Kimi to Boku) is coming on July 5, 2026!

The first season (12 episodes, done by Lapin Track) started airing from January 11, 2026, to March 29, 2026, on MBS/TBS and their affiliates, with a worldwide release through Crunchyroll (including English dub). On March 29, 2026, the announcement of Season 2 was made at the AnimeJapan 2026 event right after the airing of the last episode, which is a fast turnaround for anime shows, usually.

Its premiere date and time will be July 5, 2026, every Sunday at 5:00 PM JST on MBS/TBS networks (28 stations). ABEMA & Prime Video have Simcast available at 5:30 PM. Crunchyroll will also stream.

A high school romantic comedy about two people who are the opposite of each other (Miyu Suzuki = very outgoing & fun; Yuusuke Tani = shy & real). The story follows their relationship as it develops healthily through friends and everyday experiences. It has been very well received over the past season with good character descriptions and strong manga art from Kōcha Agasawa’s Shonen Jump+ manga adaptation.

The same main team is likely (Director: Takayoshi Nagatomo, etc). A new promotional video has been created showing all the highlights from last season.

This series has become popular in part due to how unique its approach to romance is. From what I hear from those who have read the manga, the adaptation seems to cover more of the source material, with many chapters remaining to be adapted. The actual number of episodes for Season 2 is not known yet; however, I think it will also be the equivalent length of a cour-long season as well. So that means there will be enough material available for anyone who didn’t get to watch the first season via the aforementioned website.
