Share Market Highlights: The Indian stock market closed with a sharp rise in Friday’s trading session due to the easing of ongoing tensions in the Middle East. At the end of the day, Sensex was at 77,550.25, up 918.60 points or 1.20 per cent, and Nifty was at 24,050.60, up 275.50 points or 1.10 per cent. Auto stocks led the market rise. Due to this, Nifty Auto was the top gainer in the index with a gain of 2.85 percent.


Nifty Realty closed with gains of 2.08 percent, Nifty Financial Services 2.06 percent, Nifty PSU Bank 2.01 percent, Nifty Private Bank 1.98 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables 1.74 percent and Nifty Consumption 1.55 percent. Among the indices, only Nifty IT closed with a decline of 1.91 percent.

Sun Pharma, Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech were the losers.


Resistance levels for Nifty


Sudeep Shah, Head of Technical and Derivatives Research, SBI Securities, said that the market started with a gapup. After this the market traded in a range and managed to close above 24,000. He further said that the resistance level for Nifty is 24,200 to 24,250. If this level is crossed then Nifty may go to 24,400 and then 24,600 in the near term. In case of a decline, the support zone is between 23,850 and 23,800.



Movement of foreign investors in the market


In the domestic stock market, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) made short net sales of about ₹1920 crore yesterday, including cash, index and stocks futures. At the same time, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought ₹956 crore for the 29th consecutive day, which provided support to the market.
