Hyderabad: A case has been registered against popular playback singer Mangli and three others over alleged cheating of ₹10 crore, police said.

According to the complaint filed at Panjagutta Police Station, a lawyer named Subbarao alleged that he was cheated in a microfinance investment scheme.

The complaint also names Mangli’s brother Shiva and film director Venu among the accused.

The complainant stated that he was persuaded to invest money under the pretext of a microfinance business and was later cheated. He also alleged that he received threats to his life from the accused.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have begun an investigation.

Officials said the accused may be called for questioning as part of further inquiry.
