Chennai Super Kings sealed a 23-run win over the Delhi Capitals in match 18 of the IPL 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The two sides scored high as CSK batted first scoring 212-2 in their 20 overs and restricting the DC to 189 all out during the chase.
It was a run-fest with a blazing century from Sanju Samson who remained not out on 115 off 56 balls, but this CSK score was too daunting as their bowlers, with Jamie Overton taking four scalps, closed out the latter stages and ran out clear winners at home.
CSK Batting - Samson’s ton takes Chennai past 210
Chennai Super Kings posted 61 in their opening 6 overs but with Ruturaj Gaikwad falling immediately after the break Sanju Samson and Ayush Mhatre picked things up to put on an exceptional partnership.
Samson was magnificent throughout his innings with 15 fours and 4 sixes as he maintained his strike rate of over 200 as Mhatre chipped in with 59 before being cleverly 'retired out' at 17.3 overs with CSK poised for a huge score at the back end of the innings.
The stand between the pair of 113 was the second highest for CSK vs DC in IPL history, Shivam Dube played some fine cameo shots in the dying moments as CSK went past 210.

DC Chase - Positive Start but Middle Collapse.
DC openers got off to a brisk start in their chase. KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka contributed with a flurry of runs upfront. Nissanka scoring 41 in 24 balls. Tristan Stubbs remained the lone warrior in the latter half and fought hard with 60 of 38 balls. But DC keep losing quick wickets.
Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj kept applying the pressure with crucial dismissals. Despite some lower-middle order fight, DC started to lose grip on the game after 15 th over. They collapsed for 189 and were bowled out. The critical moment was the wicket of Tristan Stubbs which led to a dispute between DC and umpires.
The Proteas star asked for a glove change a ball before his dismissal but the umpires denied the request. On the very next delivery, Stubbs played a shot, but his bat twisted which resulted into a mistimed hit, following his wicket.
He was the last hope for DC in the chase and post his dismissal, DC lost their remaining two wickets by the end of 20 overs, and eventually lost the game by 23 runs.
