New Delhi: Nicholas Pooran has surpassed KL Rahul to become Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)’s leading run-getter in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The former West Indies batter achieved the feat during his side’s clash against the Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, in the IPL 2026 on Sunday, April 12. Pooran needed only 8 runs to go past Rahul’s all-time tally for LSG and managed to do so against GT.
Pooran overtook Rahul with a six against Rashid Khan during LSG’s innings at their home ground. It was a disappointing outing for the attacking left-hander as he managed only 19 off 21 balls in the game with the help of two sixes. Nonetheless, he became LSG’s leading run-getter of all time in the IPL. Pooran went past former LSG captain Rahul, who scored 1410 runs in 38 matches for the franchise.
Rahul was appointed captain ahead of LSG’s debut IPL season in 2022. He served in the role for three seasons before leaving the franchise for his current team, the Delhi Capitals.
