The Indian film and music industry is mourning the loss of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away at the age of 92 on April 12 in Mumbai. The singer breathed her last at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital due to multi-organ failure, leaving behind an extraordinary musical legacy that spanned more than seven decades.

Asha Bhosle was hospitalised on Saturday after her health deteriorated. Early reports suggested that she had suffered a heart attack. However, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle later clarified that the veteran singer had been hospitalised due to exhaustion and a chest infection. The doctor and Asha Bhosle's son spoke to the media after her demise.

Her mortal remains arrived at her residence late Sunday evening, and celebrities have already begun to visit. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis was the first to reach her house. The Office of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra shared some pictures on X, where one can see the mortal remains of the singer. The tweet read, "Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid his last respects to veteran singer, Padma Vibhushan, and Maharashtra Bhushan Asha Bhosle at her residence in Mumbai and offered heartfelt tributes to her."

Fans and celebs will be allowed to pay their last respects and offer condolences on Monday from 11 am onwards at her residence.

Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, and Anushka Sharma, among other celebs, have taken to social media and penned heartfelt condolences.

However, Athiya Shetty, actor Suniel Shetty's daughter, took to Instagram Stories and shared Lata Mangeshkar's throwback photos instead of Asha Bhosle. Needless to say, she was slammed left, right and centre.

Many called her a brainless nepo kid and also advised her to check before posting.

However, after backlash, she deleted her previous story and ensured that she posts the correct picture of Asha Bhosle.
