New Delhi. This time the wait for Dearness Allowance (DA) for central employees seems to be getting longer. Like every year, this time too the employees were expecting DA increase in March, but due to no official announcement even till mid-April, a situation of confusion has arisen among the employees.
Why is there a delay in DA increase?
Usually, the Government of India announces the increase in dearness allowance around Holi, which comes into effect from January. But this time due to delay, the increased salary of the employees has not yet reached their accounts. It is expected that this will affect the salary for April also.
Salary calculation became the reason
In many government departments, salary is fixed on the basis of 15th to 15th. In such a situation, if DA is not announced on time, it directly impacts the next month’s salary. This is the reason that this time employees may have to wait till May for increased salary.
Increased hope of getting arrears
However, amidst the delay, a relief news is also emerging. If the DA increase is announced late, employees may simultaneously receive arrears of the increased allowance applicable from January. This means that the arrears of four months of January, February, March and April can be added to the salary of May.
demands of employee organizations
Employee organizations have sought answers from the government regarding this delay. Many organizations including the All India NPS Employees Federation have written a letter to the Finance Ministry demanding an early announcement or clarification of the situation. He says that due to uncertainty the financial plans of the employees are being affected.
What is the signal for the employees?
Experts believe that the government may soon announce DA increase. Even though it is getting delayed, the possibility of getting paid along with the arrears can be a relief news for the employees.
