The world of digital payments has witnessed a major transformation. Google Pay has introduced a new feature that now enables users to make UPI payments even without a bank account. Part of the "UPI Circle" initiative, this "Pocket Money" feature allows users to grant their family members or friends the ability to make payments directly from their own account. A key highlight is that full control over the account remains with the primary user. This feature is particularly beneficial for children and individuals who do not possess a bank account of their own.

**What are UPI Circle and the Pocket Money Feature?**
This new Google Pay feature operates under the "UPI Circle" framework, wherein a primary user can link secondary users to their own bank account. These secondary users could be family members, friends, or employees. Notably, the secondary user is not required to have their own bank account to make UPI payments; however, the actual payment is debited from the primary user's bank account. The objective of this feature is to provide people with a simple and accessible way to engage in digital payments—particularly those who are not fully integrated into the formal banking system.

**Control Remains with the Primary User**
The most critical aspect of this feature is that the primary user retains complete control. They can determine the maximum amount a secondary user is permitted to spend and decide whether to manually approve each individual transaction. If the primary user grants full permissions, a monthly spending limit of up to ₹15,000 is automatically established. This ensures both financial security and effective control over expenses. Thus, this feature serves as a convenient method for providing pocket money to children or managing the expenses of employees.

**How to Set It Up and What You Need**
To utilize this feature, the primary user must first possess an active UPI account. Subsequently, they can access their Google Pay app and add a secondary user to their "UPI Circle." To do this, the secondary user's mobile number must be saved in the primary user's contact list, and the Google Pay app must be installed on the secondary user's device. During the setup process, the user is required to provide details regarding their relationship with the secondary user, along with other necessary information. Finally, an invitation is sent out after entering the UPI PIN. Once the setup is complete, the secondary user can easily make payments, while full administrative control remains with the primary user.
