In Sukma, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai started 228 development works worth Rs 308 crore. Naxal affected Bastar region is now experiencing rapid development through peace, health services, employment and basic facilities.

Raipur. Now a new story of trust and development is being written in Bastar region, which was affected by Naxalism for a long time. In this sequence, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai gifted 228 development works worth more than Rs 308 crore to Sukma district. Of these, the foundation stone of 159 works was laid and 69 works were inaugurated, which will give new impetus to the development of the area.

Gift and new beginning of development works in Sukma

Addressing a large number of people present at the program organized at Mini Stadium Sukma, the Chief Minister said that development of backward areas due to Naxalism for the last 40 years is the priority of the government. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, peace has been established in Bastar and now development work is progressing rapidly.

Changing picture in Naxal affected villages

The Chief Minister said that in the villages where earlier there was an atmosphere of fear and violence, now children are studying and school bells are heard. People are expressing confidence in democracy and joining the mainstream. He informed that more than 3 thousand Maoists have surrendered and they are being given an opportunity to start a new life through rehabilitation centres.

Swasth Bastar Abhiyan: Door-to-door health services

During the program, the Chief Minister himself got his health checked and praised the 'Chief Minister Swasth Bastar Abhiyan'. Under this scheme, 1100 teams in 7 districts will go door-to-door to check the health of people, due to which better health services will reach rural areas.

Departmental stalls and direct communication with beneficiaries

Before the program, the Chief Minister inspected the stalls of various departments and interacted with the common citizens. He distributed assistance materials and certificates under the schemes on the spot. In the stall of the Health Department, certificates were given to 7 TB free Panchayats and it was told that 28 Panchayats of the district have now become TB free. Besides, food baskets were also distributed to 3 TB patients. The Chief Minister encouraged the patients who had undergone cataract surgery by making them wear spectacles and also gave them medicines. Enquas certificates were also awarded to Moorthonda, Penta and Kankerlanka sub-health centres.

Assistance to disabled people and needy

Under the Social Welfare Department, artificial legs were given to 5 people who lost their legs in the IED blast. Apart from this, 4 wheelchairs, 3 tricycles and identity cards were provided to 6 disabled people, so that they can avail the benefits of government schemes.

Interacting with women of self-help groups at the NRLM stall, the Chief Minister inspired them to become “Lakhpati Didi to Crorepati Didi” and assured them of all possible assistance. 2 e-rickshaws were given to the rehabilitated women so that they can become self-reliant through self-employment. Besides, an appointment letter was also given to a beneficiary.

Housing, Forest Rights and Economic Empowerment

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, information about the construction works was obtained by talking to the beneficiaries. 15 forest rights letters were distributed by the Tribal Development Department. The Forest Department provided assistance to the beneficiaries involved in tendu leaf collection and a check of Rs 4.27 lakh was given to the cooperative society Tongpal.

Niyad Nellanar 2.0 and new announcements

The Chief Minister said that under the Niyya Nellanar Scheme, 45 schemes of 17 departments have been implemented in more than 500 villages. Now 10 districts will be included in its next phase 'Niyad Nellanar 2.0'. Along with this, 8 new announcements were made for the development of the area, which include renovation of roads, culverts, bus stands, community buildings and temples.
