Hyderabad: Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in some places in Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Khammam, Jagtial, Rajanna Siricilla, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet districts of Telangana over the next week, India Meteorological Department said.

Most places in Hyderabad will likely experience temperatures between 41-44 degrees Celsius, as per IMD forecast. Others will likely record temperatures between 36-40°C.

In Hyderabad, maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 41 and 28°C respectively. Surface winds are likely to be southerlies/south-easterlies with wind speeds of 4-6 kmph.

Heat wave grips Hyderabad:

Meanwhile, heat wave has gripped the city as several places recorded 40°C for the first time this season. The areas include Himayatnagar, Musheerabad, Mettuguda, Begumpet, MoulaAli, Hayathnagar, Malakpet, Uppal, Kapra, Miyapur, Karwan, Yousufguda, Shaikpet, Rajendranagar, Serilingampally. Similar trend is likely for the next week with temperatures crossing 41-42°C.

As per long range forecast by the IMD, Telangana is likely to receive normal to above normal rainfall along with Andhra Pradesh.

AP weather forecast:

Hot, humid and discomfort weather conditions are likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal AP, Yanam, Rayalaseema. Maximum temperatures will rise gradually by 2-3°C.

As per Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Agency (APSDMA), severe heat wave is likely in 43 mandals while a heat wave is likely in 104 mandals.
