Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj, claimed on April 15 that Bihar will now be governed from Gujarat following Nitish Kumar’s transition to the Rajya Sabha and the appointment of Samrat Choudhary as the new Chief Minister.

Kishor described the change as the first “gift” to Bihar from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and criticized the party’s statement about maintaining “conduct, character, and face.” He insisted the individual appointed to the highest position must be scrutinized based on these criteria.

He added, “This is the ‘New BJP’; they have demonstrated that, henceforth, Bihar will be governed from Gujarat.” While not naming Choudhary directly, Kishor said, “The individual who has become Chief Minister here today, it is not really about the person himself; rather, his ‘keys’ and ‘remote control’ will remain in the hands of Amit Shah.”

Kishor expressed concern over youth unemployment and migration, alleging that many young people from Bihar will continue relocating to other states such as Gujarat to find low-paying work.

He stated, “The people of Gujarat will remain the factory owners, while the people of Bihar will remain the labourers. Now the face is out in front, now you can see. Your children are becoming laborers after graduating, getting MAs and BAs. They are sitting unemployed while BJP people, even if they have failed 7th grade, are now becoming your kings; this is the power of your vote. On the basis of 5.5 rupees a day, you have You haven’t sold your vote, you haven’t sold your own housing, no leader. one can improve Bihar,”

On the same day, Samrat Choudhary was elected Leader of the BJP Legislative Party in Bihar, enabling his elevation as Chief Minister after Nitish Kumar’s resignation.

Speaking to ANI after the ceremony, Choudhary said, “In my life, the BJP gave me several opportunities to serve.” He pledged to prioritize India’s development and stated, “We will continue to take up the work of considering India before everything else and considering it the best, and prioritizing the party.”

Choudhary, who has worked as a BJP political worker for approximately 30 years and a party member since 2015, will be the first BJP Chief Minister of Bihar.

This follows the resignation of Nitish Kumar, Bihar’s longest-serving Chief Minister who held the post for 21 years. Kumar resigned to take oath as a Member of the Rajya Sabha on April 10. He tendered his resignation to Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd) at Lok Bhavan in Patna.
