The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team faced another injury problem during their IPL 2026 match against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. The five-time champions already worry about player fitness, and now one more name has joined their growing concern list.

Chennai Super Kings achieved a significant victory over KKR because their star pacer got injured yet they won the match by 32 runs which brought them to eighth place with four points from five matches.

CSK scored 192 runs during their batting turn in the match which they played against their opponents. Sanju Samson set the tone with a fine 48-run knock that included four fours and three sixes. Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis also chipped in with impressive 30-plus scores.

The cricket match started poorly for KKR because they lost six batsmen after scoring only 90 runs. Noor Ahmad starred with the ball, claiming three wickets. The other bowlers in the match Khaleel Ahmed Anshul Kamboj and Akeal Hosein each took one wicket.

Khaleel Ahmed played a key role in KKR's collapse according to previous information. The left-arm pacer dismissed Sunil Narine at a crucial moment. The CSK bowler faced an injury during his last over. Khaleel experienced hamstring injury when he reached the end of his fourth over. He tried to bowl his last delivery but he failed to keep going. Khaleel Ahmed left the field because he experienced discomfort.

Khaleel will receive scanning tests which the team will report back to share their findings. Gurjapneet Singh completed his final delivery during the 17th over which resulted in a boundary for the opposing team.

CSK will face a challenge in their upcoming match because Khaleel Ahmed has only taken two wickets across five games this season. The Men in Yellow will next face SRH on April 18.

Talking about CSK's injury concerns, both MS Dhoni and Dewald Brevis were injured before the season began. The duo suffered side strains, which impacted CSK as the team lost its first three matches in IPL 2026.

Dewald Brevis has returned to the playing XI after his recovery and has played in two matches. MS Dhoni is still in the process of recovering from his injury. Although reports claimed he would play in the KKR clash, fans must wait for his return. The possibility of Dhoni playing against SRH remains uncertain.
