Consumer appliances brand Atomberg’s cofounders are stepping into new roles, with Manoj Meena becoming chairman and managing director, and Sibabrata (Shibam) Das taking over as chief executive officer (CEO), according to a LinkedIn post by Meena on Tuesday. Meena was the CEO earlier, and Das the COO. Additionally, Meena will also be the CEO of Atomberg Innovation, a subsidiary.
According to the post, Das will lead the consumer business, including fans, water purifiers, and kitchen and home appliances. Meena will focus on innovation and long-term strategy at Atomberg. Both founders are from IIT Bombay.
Atomberg initially manufactured fans, but the company has since expanded into new categories, including mixer-grinders, smart locks, water purifiers and kitchen appliances.
Last December, the company said it would go for an IPO (initial public offer) of $200 million this year.
