New Delhi: Samrat Chaudhary has officially taken the reins as the 24th Chief Minister of the state, bringing an end to Nitish Kumar’s historic 20-year tenure. In a bold move following his swearing-in ceremony today, a government notification has revealed a highly centralised portfolio distribution, with the new Chief Minister personally overseeing a staggering 29 departments.
By retaining 29 portfolios, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has consolidated the state’s most critical administrative and security functions under his direct supervision. Most notably, he will lead the Home Department, giving him direct control over law and order.
