In the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, two brothers, Kapil and Pradeep Negi, have welcomed a baby girl into their family. Their wife, Sunita, has given birth, a moment they shared on their Facebook page. Last year, both brothers made headlines when they decided to marry the same woman, a choice that sparked considerable discussion across the country. Some critics questioned their decision, but the brothers responded with a video on social media, defending their unique family structure. Now, their family has grown from three to four, and they are all thriving together.
Sharing the Joy on Social Media
On Facebook, they expressed their happiness, stating that today marks one of the most beautiful and memorable days of their lives. They welcomed a little guest into their trio, filling their home and hearts with joy. With the blessings of their deities and elders, they feel fortunate to become parents. They described the experience as indescribable, noting that their lives have transformed from living solely for themselves to embracing new responsibilities, dreams, and happiness. The arrival of their little angel has filled their home with laughter, love, and joy.
Announcing Their Daughter's Arrival
In a subsequent post, the brothers shared the news of their daughter’s birth, expressing their excitement with their Facebook family. They wrote, “As you all know, happiness has knocked on our doors. We are thrilled to announce that our home has been blessed with a daughter.”
Why They Chose This Unique Marriage
Kapil and Pradeep Negi hail from Shilai village in Sirmaur district and come from a farming background. Pradeep works in a government job, while Kapil is currently employed in Bahrain. They gained attention when they decided to marry the same woman, Sunita Chauhan, from Kunhat village. Their marriage follows the Hati community's polyandry tradition, where a single woman can have multiple husbands, allowing brothers to share a wife.
