UPSSSC Vacancy: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow, has issued a recruitment notification for the posts of Platoon Commander and Block Organizer. Recruitment for both these positions will take place within the Home Guards department. According to the notification, there are 52 vacancies for the post of Platoon Commander and 243 vacancies for the post of Block Organizer. The online application process for these positions is scheduled to commence on April 16, 2026.

In its notification, the Commission has stated that only those candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 (UP PET) are eligible to apply for this recruitment.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their normalized scores obtained in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025.

Educational Qualifications:

1. For both the Platoon Commander and Block Organizer posts, it is mandatory to have appeared in the PET 2025.

2. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Age Limit:

For the Platoon Commander and Block Organizer posts, the minimum age limit is 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 40 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit in accordance with the applicable rules.

Physical Efficiency Test

In accordance with the Uttar Pradesh Home Guard Service Rules, 1982, and Letter No. 7293/Personnel/HG-18/2018 dated 11-09-2020 issued by the Home Guard Headquarters, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, the Physical Efficiency Test for candidates fulfilling the prescribed criteria for direct recruitment to the post of Block Organizer / Platoon Commander shall be as follows:

4.8 km Race

Time: 25 Minutes

For Female Candidates:

2.4 km Race The Run

Duration: 14 minutes
