New Delhi: Arshdeep Singh became the 24th Indian to pick up 100 IPL wickets during the Indian Premier League 2026 clash between the Punjab Kings and the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

The Indian pacer joined the century club with huge wickets of Ryan Rickleton and Suryakumar Yadav in successive deliveries. Arshdeep set the tone with the double-wicket over after PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer opted to bowl first.

The Punjab fast bowler first removed Rickleton, who was caught at deep square leg, before dismissing out-of-sorts Suryakumar for a golden duck, in the third over of the contest to give his side a perfect start.

The double-wicket over also broke the new-ball jinx of Arshdeep, who picked up his first IPL wicket in the powerplay in his last 11 innings.

With the pair of wickets, Arshdeep became the first PBKS bowler to complete 100 IPL wickets. Piyush Chawla’s 84 wickets is the next best for the Punjab side.

Arshdeep also became the fifth left-arm pacer to pick up 100 IPL wickets.

PBKS unchanged as MI take the field without injured Rohit

Earlier, PBKS skipper Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first as the Punjab-based franchise retained the same team as in the previous game.

PBKS entered the contest as the only unbeaten team this season with three wins and one no-result due to rain. MI, on the other hand, are looking to break the three-game losing streak, which started after a win over KKR on Day 2 of the tournament.

While PBKS played with the same XI, MI made two changes. Iconic batter Rohit Sharma missed out due to a hamstring injury, while Mitchell Santner was sidelined with illness. At the coin toss, MI skipper Hardi revealed that Rohit is likely to miss at least a couple more games due to the injury he sustained in MI’s blockbuster clash with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday.
