Holiday season is upon us, whether you're jetting off for an early dose of sunshine, preparing for a staycation or counting down the days to a couple of weeks away during the summer break. But before you double-check your sun cream and swimming trunks are packed, it's worth making sure your suitcase is up to the job. Finding one that ticks every box - the right dimensions, durable enough for repeat trips and still reasonably priced - can feel like a bit of a mission. Enter Antler: a big name in the suitcase world and a British legacy brand founded in 1914. I can speak from experience here because my entire suitcase collection is made up of Antler cases in all sizes, and they've never let me down. While they're usually more of an investment buy, now's a great time to snap one up for less. The current sale has up to 40% off, with some pieces coming in at under £100.
And one standout item in the sale is the Logo Stripe Cabin Suitcase, which has been dropped to £119. At full price, the suitcase will cost £170, so that's a 30% saving. If you're jetting off with a budget airline such as easyJet or Jet2, it could be just the thing you're looking for. Measuring 55 x 22 x 38 cm, it's not quite small enough for easyJet's free hand luggage allowance (that's just 45 x 36 x 30cm), but it slots in perfectly as a larger cabin bag. For reference, their allowance is 56 x 45 x 25 cm and is free for easyJet Plus members or can be added onto your booking for as little as £5.99.
So instead of squeezing everything into a tiny bag, you can bring a larger cabin case and a smaller personal item onboard.
If you're jetting off with airlines like Jet2 or British Airways, which have a more lenient free luggage allowance, the Logo Stripe is a perfect fit. Jet2 allows passengers to bring a cabin bag measuring up to 56 x 45 x 25cm onboard for free, while British Airways passengers can bring a small luggage item plus a cabin bag up to 56 x 45 x 25cm.
It will give you 39 litres of packing space, but perhaps what makes this bag even better is that it is expandable. There is a zip around the outside that opens to provide extra packing space inside if you pick up any souvenirs on your trip. This expands the bag to provide up to an extra three centimetres in width and up to 45 litres in packing space.
Passengers who have already bought the Antler bag have said it's both stylish and "spacious". In a review, one customer said: "The style is amazing, very spacious, and the colour is so nice and unique! Definitely recommend this suitcase."
The hardshell is made from polycarbonate, so it's designed to withstand a few knocks while remaining lightweight. Empty, it weighs just 3kg, leaving you with plenty of room to pack without worrying about going over the limit.
Another said: "Great cabin bag, especially with the expandable feature and up-to-date colour-way."
The bag comes in a versatile cream colour accented with a black zip, handle and wheels. Open it up, and everything has its place, making packing (and unpacking) feel far less chaotic. Like most of Antler's suitcases, it splits into two compartments: one side has compression straps to keep everything in place, while the other has a zipped panel complete with smaller pockets that are great for organising small items. I tend to use these compartments in my Antler suitcase for items like socks and underwear, but you could just as easily tuck away electronics or slim shoes like pumps or flip-flops. There's also a discreet side pocket, ideal for keeping valuables out of sight.
"Excellent quality with lots of compartments to organise everything," said one review.
There is an extendable handle to help with wheeling, as well as four 360-degree spinner wheels to help you get from A to B with ease.
In a review, one customer said: "Beautifully light and moves along like a dream. Handle and wheels seem strong. Lovely colour, and very well compartmentalised inside to keep all one's different items secure and separated."
Security-wise, it's covered too. There's a TSA-approved lock built in, so once you've set your code, everything stays safely shut while you travel.
Plus, all Antler bags come with a lifetime guarantee (just make sure to register them within the first 30 days and keep your proof of purchase), so your suitcase is protected for the long haul.
