IPL Points Table 2026 Updated After GT vs MI: Mumbai Indians moved to the seventh position in the IPL 2026 points table after defeating Gujarat Titans by 99 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 20. Batting first, MI posted 199/5 in 20 overs. The five-time champions got off to a poor start as Kagiso Rabada picked up three wickets in the first six overs of the innings.
He first removed Danish Malewar for 2 runs in the second over, and then dismissed Quinton de Kock for 13 in the fourth. Rabada took his third wicket of the match and removed struggling Suryakumar Yadav for 15 in the final over of the powerplay.
Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma batted well, stitching a 50-run partnership to help MI recover from the early setbacks. Prasidh removed Naman for 15, after which Tilak shifted gears to help MI set a 200-run target. He smashed an unbeaten 101 runs off 45 balls with the help of seven maximums and eight boundaries. For GT, Rabada picked up three wickets, but Prasidh gave away 54 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, GT got off to a disappointing start as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sai Sudharsan for a duck on the first ball of the innings. Hardik followed it up by removing Buttler lbw in the next over.
Ashwani Kumar removed Shubman Gill for 14 runs in the fifth over of the powerplay. After that, MI bowlers dominated the match. Ashwani Kumar took 4 wickets, while Santner dismissed Washington Sundar (26) and Glenn Phillips (6) in the same over. Ghazanfar wrapped things up with the last two wickets.
