After the spy thriller, the 40-year-old actor seemed firmly back in demand, but the noise around his exit from Don 3 tells a different story.

Reports suggested the Bajirao Mastani actor had stepped away from the film after early involvement, including pre-production work and look tests.

The project, backed by Excel Entertainment and led by Farhan Akhtar, had already spent heavily, which made the situation quite messy.

There were also whispers of formal mediation.

Industry chatter pointed to the Producers Guild of India stepping in, with claims that the production house sought compensation after investing close to Rs 42–43 crore in preparations.

For weeks, neither the filmmaker nor his business partner Ritesh Sidhwani spoke publicly. But away from the headlines, the matter was still being discussed to find a solution.

Sources now suggest the Gully Boy lead has agreed to return his signing amount, reported to be around Rs 10 crore.

More notably, he is said to have offered a stake in his upcoming project, tentatively titled Pralaayas part of a broader understanding.

Meanwhile, the details of the reported deal remain unclear, and nothing has been formally confirmed yet.
