The Central Government has started the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana for farmers. So that in future no farmer will have to worry about support in old age. This scheme gives assurance of a dignified life to the farmers and acts as a security shield.

Who can apply?

Even though this scheme is for farmers, only limited farmers can avail its benefit. If you also want to apply for this scheme, then it is important to know the important conditions of the government. To apply, the farmer must have 2 hectares or less of cultivable land. Also, the age of the applicant should be between 18 to 40 years.

Apart from this, the farmer is not already receiving any benefit (EPFO or government pension scheme). To avail the benefits of this scheme, farmers aged between 18 to 40 years can avail a benefit of Rs 3,000 by depositing a premium ranging from Rs 55 to Rs 200 per month.

How much pension will you get?

The benefit of the scheme will be available only after completing 60 years of age. During this period, monthly pension of Rs 3,000 will be sent directly to your account. If a farmer receiving pension dies, his wife will be given 50 percent of the pension amount every month.

How will you be able to apply?

To avail the benefits of this scheme, first of all you will have to register in Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana. To register, go to the CSC center and submit all the necessary documents there like Aadhar Card, Bank Passbook and copy of Khasra-Khatauni. The premium will be decided according to your age. You can avail the benefits of the scheme by depositing the premium. During this time you will get a Kisan Pension Card, on which a unique pension number will be registered.
