Salman Khan as Jeeva Mahala

Salman Khan plays Jeeva Mahala,Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s loyal bodyguard, in Raja Shivaji. Jeeva Mahala is remembered for killing Sayyed Banda during the Battle of Pratapgarh when he tried to attack Shivaji. For the unversed, Riteish Deshmukh revealed Salman Khan’s casting during the Bigg Boss Marathi finale.

Sanjay Dutt as Afzal Khan

Sanjay Dutt plays Afzal Khan in the film, marking another on-screen reunion with Salman Khan. Afzal Khan was a general of the Adil Shahi dynasty. Afzal and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had an encounter on November 10, 1659, near Pratapgad. Afzal was killed by Shivaji using tiger claws (Wagh Nakh) after an attempted attack during a meeting.

Abhishek Bachchan as Sambhaji Bhosale

The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan as Sambhaji Bhosale, Shivaji’s brother. Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan will share screen space again after 2004’s Phir Milenge, which also starred Shilpa Shetty.

Vidya Balan plays Badi Begum in the film, reuniting with her Lage Raho Munna Bhai co-star Sanjay Dutt.
