Sanjay Singh, Patna: Immediately after the formation of the new government, the first cabinet meeting was held under the leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. The BJP government has taken many big decisions in the first meeting itself. In this meeting which lasted for about an hour, 22 important proposals were approved, whose impact will be widely seen on the development, employment, law and order and infrastructure of the state. This meeting is being considered as a clear vision document for the coming years.

The state government has taken concrete steps to strengthen women’s safety. It has been decided to give scooties to 1500 women policemen and motorcycles to 3200 policemen. The objective of this Rs 66.75 crore scheme is to provide quick access to police, especially in urban and semi-urban areas. This will not only increase patrolling but will also ensure active participation of women police. Experts believe that this will speed up crime control and increase security confidence among the public.

Sonpur will become a powerhouse of religious tourism

Now preparations are being made to give international recognition to Baba Hariharnath temple located in Sonpur. The government has sanctioned Rs 680 crore to develop it on the lines of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. Under this project, expansion of the temple complex, modern facilities for devotees, beautification of river ghats and improvement in traffic and parking arrangements will be done. With all these works, this area can become a major center of not only religious but also cultural tourism. This is also likely to bring a big boost to local business and employment.

Immense tourism potential will increase in Tarapur also

To promote tourism in Tarapur of Munger district, 15 acres of government land will be given free of cost to the Tourism Department. This step is important towards developing this area as an organized tourism centre. There is a plan to promote religious places as well as eco-tourism, cultural programs and local handicrafts, which will provide new energy to the rural economy.

Easy registry system for senior citizens

Under the new registration rules 2026, senior citizens aged 80 years and above will be given special facilities in the registration process. Now they will not need to stand in long lines or go to office again and again. This step of the government is being considered as a sensitive initiative in the direction of ‘Ease of Living’.

Big engine of employment and skills for youth
 
The state government has taken a big decision to strengthen technical education. Under the Pradhan Mantri Setu Yojana, 75 ITI institutes of Bihar will be converted into state-of-the-art training centres. Under this scheme of Rs 3615 crore, establishment of new machines and labs, partnership with industries, employment based training will be provided. This will give the youth an opportunity to directly connect with industries and will create skilled manpower in the state.

11 new satellite townships, new direction to urbanization

In view of the rapidly increasing urban pressure, the government has approved the creation of 11 greenfield satellite townships. Modern residential facilities, better road and transport networks, advanced water and sewerage arrangements will be provided in these townships. At present, there is a ban on buying, selling and construction of land in these areas, so that the schemes can be implemented in a systematic manner. This step is considered important towards preventing uncontrolled urbanization and ensuring planned development.

Strengthening IT, research and security infrastructure

The government has also taken major decisions in the technical and security fields. A research park will be built in IIT Patna at a cost of Rs 305 crore, which will promote startup and innovation. Rs 39.01 crore will be given for Incubation Center Phase-2, Rs 172.80 crore for Emergency Response Support System (ERSSE) and Police Data Center in Rajiv Nagar, Rs 18 crore will be given for 62 meter high hydraulic ladder machine for fire brigade. These decisions will give new strength to disaster management, police response system and technical development.

Clear message of balanced development

The first cabinet meeting of the new government has indicated that the focus is not just on announcements but on changes on the ground. Security, tourism, education, urban development and technology, each sector has been given priority in a balanced manner. According to political analysts, this meeting is a clear indication of the working style and priorities of the government.
