Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan are reportedly planning to join their forces again after Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan. The iconic duo reunited for Bhooth Bangla after Khatta Meetha (2010), which was their last film together. Here's what we know about their upcoming collaboration.

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan to reunite after ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have come together in the past to produce hit comedy movies like De Dana Dan, Garam Masala, Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhaag and more. After their 2010 comedy drama Khatta Meetha, the duo reunited after 16 years for Bhooth Bangla, which released on April 17, 2026.

According to reports, the actor-director pair are also working on Haiwaan which will be released after Bhooth Bangla. But according to reports, Haiwaan won’t mark their final collaboration.

A recent report said that Akshay and Priyadarshan are coming together for another entertainer just like their previous family movies. It will be produced by Tips Films.

Bollywood Hungama quoted a source, “Priyadarshan is putting together an exciting film and has signed Akshay Kumar for it. It’ll be a typical Priyan entertainer that’ll appeal to the youth and families alike.”

The source also said, “It’ll be produced by Tips Films, and this will be the first time that the reputed banner will be working with Priyadarshan.”

Before this, Tips produced Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment, which became a box office disaster.

About ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’

Akshay Kumar-led Bhooth Bangla released a few days ago and has been performing decently at the box office. Akshay Kumar’s return to comedy, the film’s early-2000s nostalgia, and thrilling storyline has managed to pull viewers in cinema halls. Bhooth Bangla managed to touch the Rs 100 crore mark within four days of its release.

As of day nine, its total domestic gross collection is Rs 109.18 crore, and total nett earnings are Rs 91.82 crore. As per box office trackers, Akshay Kumar-Priyadarshan's horror comedy has raked in Rs 37.5 crore overseas. This figure has pushed its worldwide gross collection to Rs 144.70 crore.

Helmed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla is led by Akshay Kumar. It also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, Rajesh Sharma, and the late Asrani. Bhooth Bangla marks the last on-screen appearance of Asrani.

Haiwaan, on the other hand, features Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. Priyadarshan revealed that he has wrapped up Haiwaan’s shoot. However, the film’s release date has not announced yet.

Akshay and Priyadarshan are also committed to Hera Pheri 3, but the film is tied up in legal complications. The makers have shared that they will start working on it only after the issues are resolved.
